Bethany brought it to my attention that I had not yet started my 12 days of giving....so yeah I will be short a few days but better late than never right????
This quote I grabbed of Bethany's blog.

Some people give time, some money, some their skills and connections, some literally give their life's blood. But everyone has something to give. ~ Barbara Bush

That is so true!! Isn't it? Some people give without even knowing they are giving!!
My husband calls me the "professional volunteer" since I spend endless hours volunteering. I have been on PTO's, local DS board of directors, youth group leader, and many many many hours at the kid's schools helping in their classrooms, I could go on. Something about volunteering makes me feel so good inside.
One thing I do wish I could give more of is money. I LOVE to give. I know money isnt everything, but so many need it!! We dont have much right now, either, after my husbands open heart surgery. We have yet to see a pay check. We have had so many generous people give to us just so we can just pay some of the bills. And then there is Christmas.........So, anyway, I could actually be one that could qualify to be on the receiving side... its hard to admit, but we could.
I will never be able to repay the generosity of all those kind souls that have given to us so today, instead of buying a Christmas gift for our kids, I took the little I had and donated to the Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army in front of Target. It wasnt much, but I am sure it will make a child out there very happy this Christmas!! You think if If I wrap a note up to each of my kids and explain to them what I did, instead of buying them a gift, they will be ok with it? I hope so, I have raised them that it is better to give than to receive.... I hope they will always remember that.
Now, how about you??? lets hear about your 12 days of Giving!

LOL, The Hubs thinks I volunteer too much. In fact, I'm off to Laurie's school to help at the school store in a few minutes. It's such a shame that so many people have to work during the day, that they can't volunteer during school hours, so I sort of feel obligated to do it. Our school is so small (only 350 kids PreK - 6) and so few families as it is.
