Down Syndrome is easy...its been that way for us since day one. But our biggest fear that sometimes come with DS has happened to our precious friend Chelsea....The "L" word....yup nasty ass Leukemia...
Our two angels are only 1 month apart in age. They got to meet each other and play with each other in Kansas City--they are so cute together...You would never think that this playful, healthy looking, beauty would get hit with this... IT"S NOT FAIR!!!! I am really having a hard time with this. I just want to rush to Kansas and hug Carey and Chels.

Please take a moment and say a prayer for Chelsea and her family.

Amy, I think I read on T21 that you were collecting things for the family? Is that right?

I have a brand-new Spinoza bear (it's a bear that plays songs and gently talks to a child, with positive messages of love and support) that I was hoping to find a home for. I'd like to send it to Chelsea, for while she's in the hospital, if you think it would be a good idea?

Let me know at jennifer (at) jennifergrafgroneberg (dot) com and I'll get it packaged up. In the mean time, of course I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Aw, they look like twins with their little pigtails and matching outfits! There are so many treatments and special services out there now for children with leukemia... I did a blog post about it a few days ago. Families of kids with leukemia have a TON of people rooting for them! Keep us posted on how Chelsea is doing!

She does look playful, and strong too. It is so hard with Leukemia. It is good that you were able to meet up.
